Parker Mikesch- University of Louisville
Parker Mikesch returns to SC Elite this summer for our 2nd Annual Louisville Camp. The inaugural camp was a huge success and Parker was the reason- his energy and enthusasm coupled with a deep experience playing and coaching at the highest levels creates an atmosphere that is both fun and productive.
Parker is a rising star in collegiate volleyball coaching, bringing ACC and Big Ten experience to every court he steps on. A former two-time captain and libero at Ohio State, Parker has quickly established himself as a coach who elevates programs across all phases of the game, from offensive efficiency and setting systems to elite-level blocking and defensive structure.
Parker is currently the assistant coach at the University of Louisville under head coach Dan Meske, and in his first season he helped lead the Cardinals to a 26-7 record and their 34th NCAA Tournament appearance. Under his guidance, Louisville finished the 2025 season ranked first in the nation in total blocks (386.5) and second in blocks per set (3.09), while holding opponents to a .173 hitting percentage, second in the ACC and 18th nationally. The Cardinals produced multiple AVCA All-Americans, including Honorable Mention honoree Chicoine and setter Nayelis Cabello, along with four AVCA First Team All-South Region selections.
Prior to Louisville, Parker spent two seasons as assistant coach at the University of North Carolina. In 2024, he helped guide the Tar Heels to a 22-7 record and their 20th NCAA Tournament appearance, the program's first 20-win season since 2021. During his tenure, he developed multiple All-ACC honorees including Mabrey Shaffmaster and ACC All-Freshman Team selections Jackie Taylor and Sydney Nolan.
As a player, Parker was a four-year libero and two-time captain at Ohio State, competing in 81 matches across 264 sets. As impressive as his on-court career was, his academic record was equally distinguished, he earned four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete honors, four MIVA Academic All-Conference selections, three Big Ten Distinguished Scholar awards, and Academic All-Big Ten recognition, graduating in 2022 with a double major in Psychology and Sports Industry.
Carson Overbeck - UNC-Chapel Hill
Carson Overbeck also returns to SC Elite for a 2nd summer. Carson brings a unique combination of competitive experience, academic excellence, and natural leadership to the Next Level Volleyball clinic. A former libero and defensive specialist at the University of North Carolina, Overbeck appeared in 70 matches for the Tar Heels between 2022 and 2024, earning two All-ACC Academic Team honors along the way.
Currently serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Carolina volleyball program, a role she began in April 2025, Overbeck is just getting started on what promises to be a standout coaching career. Head coach Mike Schall, who hired her, said it best: "Every team Carson is part of is better because of who she is as a person and leader."
Athleticism and leadership run deep in the Overbeck family. Her mother, Carla, is currently an assistant coach for the Duke women's soccer team — and her credentials speak for themselves. A two-time All-American soccer player at UNC from 1986 to 1989, Carla went on to captain the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team that won the gold medal.
Carson brings that same champion's mentality to every gym she enters, combining fresh on-court perspective with a genuine passion for developing the next generation of volleyball players.
