Dolores "Didi" Spero brings decades of playing, coaching, and mentoring experience to the volleyball court. Her coaching philosophy centers on developing confident, disciplined athletes while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love for the game.

Dolores "Didi" Spero brings decades of playing, coaching, and mentoring experience to the volleyball court. A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, Didi developed her passion for the game at John Jay High School, where she served as team captain and was named Most Valuable Player. She continued playing at Pace University while earning her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, remaining active in competitive adult leagues and grass doubles tournaments throughout her playing career.


Didi began coaching at her alma mater while still in college, serving as the John Jay High School junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant for three seasons. She was also a founding coach of the Mid-Hudson Juniors Volleyball Program, helping grow opportunities for young athletes in the region.


Since 2019, Didi has coached with New York Elite Volleyball Club, working with developmental athletes and regional travel teams at the 15U through 18U levels. She currently serves as the Head Coach of New York Elite's regional travel program while also serving as Assistant Coach for the Dutchess Community College women's volleyball team.



Beyond volleyball, Didi dedicated more than 32 years to serving her community with the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department and has spent over a decade mentoring youth through Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson. Her coaching philosophy centers on developing confident, disciplined athletes while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love for the game.
