experience
Before joining Charleston, Taylor spent three impactful seasons as an assistant coach at Belmont University, where she worked primarily with setters. During her time there, she helped guide the Bruins to a breakout 2023 season, which included the program’s first appearance in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, its first postseason win since 2015, and a Power 5 sweep over Syracuse — Belmont’s first since 2014. Under her guidance, multiple attackers and setters posted career-best seasons, and the team achieved its best record since 2017.
Taylor began her coaching career as a volunteer assistant at her alma mater, Eastern Michigan University, in 2020. As a four-year starting setter at EMU from 2016 to 2019, she played a key role in the team’s 2018 MAC Championship and NCAA Tournament berth. She currently ranks eighth all-time in assists and tenth in service aces in program history.
Her individual accolades include:
- Five-time MAC Setter of the Week (2018–2019)
- Team Freshman of the Year (2016)
- Team Teammate of the Year (2017)
- 3rd in the MAC in assists per set (2019)
In 2018, Taylor led one of the MAC’s top offensive units, helping EMU rank first in team hitting percentage, assists per set, and kills per set.
Originally from Indiana, she played her high school volleyball at Perry Meridian and competed with Circle City Volleyball Club. She holds a degree from Eastern Michigan University and brings both classroom teaching and coaching experience to her role at SC Elite.
Taylor’s technical knowledge, leadership, and setter development expertise make her a valuable addition to the SC Elite coaching team and an invaluable resource for our players.
