Sydney McEachern

Sydney McEachern is an accomplished volleyball coach, educator, and former collegiate athlete with a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, she played collegiate volleyball at Belhaven University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and later completed her Master of Business Administration. During her playing career, Sydney established herself as one of the top defensive players in the American Southwest Conference, earning NCAA Mid-East Region First Team and Second Team honors, leading the conference in digs per set, and receiving multiple All-Conference and Defensive Player of the Week recognitions.

With eight years of club coaching experience and three years as a high school head coach, Sydney has built a reputation for developing competitive athletes and successful programs. She currently serves as the Head Volleyball Coach at Madison Central High School in Mississippi, where she oversees all aspects of the varsity program, including player development, practice planning, game strategy, and team culture. In 2025, she guided Madison Central to a MHSAA 7A State Championship Runner-Up finish, one of the highest achievements in program history.

In addition to her high school coaching responsibilities, Sydney has served as Assistant Director and Head Coach for Coqui Volleyball Club since 2021. There, she has coached athletes of all ages, organized camps and clinics, developed age-specific training programs, led the club's recruiting efforts, and managed its social media presence. Her experience spans beginner developmental programs through advanced competitive teams, giving her the ability to connect with athletes at every stage of their volleyball journey.

Sydney's commitment to excellence has been recognized throughout her career. She was named the 2023 MAIS All-Star Volleyball Coach and received the prestigious 2024 AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award, recognizing the nation's top young volleyball coaches.

As both a coach and educator, Sydney believes volleyball is about much more than wins and losses. She is passionate about building confident, disciplined, and resilient young people while fostering a competitive, positive environment where athletes can develop their skills, leadership, and love for the game. Sydney has recently relocated to the Charleston area and is excited to continue investing in the growth and success of athletes within the SC Elite Volleyball Club community and as the new Head Coach of the Girl’s Varsity Team at James Island Charter High School.
